Summary

UHY Hacker Young is seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Assistant Manager for their Nottingham office. The role involves managing a client portfolio, overseeing compliance, and providing advisory support, with a focus on a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including interaction with clients and colleagues to ensure all deadlines (client & statutory) are met
  • Management of junior member of the team
  • Review of work undertaken by junior colleagues
  • Active role in personal development and mentoring of junior team members
  • Delivering all aspects of corporation tax compliance support to clients
  • Review of computations prepared by the Accounting & Business Services team
  • Responding to ad hoc queries from internal and external clients
  • Full portfolio management, to include billing, work in progress and management of your own workflow to meet deadlines
  • Completing technical research for discussion and presentation to colleagues and clients
  • Liaising with HMRC in relation to client liabilities and responding to HMRC enquiries
  • Providing support to Partners and Managers for client meetings
  • Direct involvement in corporate tax planning work

  • CTA qualified essential
  • 3 years + post qualification experience
  • Understanding of accounts
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Job description

The role will be predominantly compliance, but you will have the ability to work on advisory projects and to move more into a mixed compliance/advisory role.

Duties will include:

Working arrangements

The working week: with flexibility of hours to meet specific demands – we offer a hybrid model of three days in the office and two days homeworking

Location: Your principal work base is our Nottingham Office, however you may be required to spend time working on client premises

Person specifications – Desirable experience and skills
