Summary

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Mechanical Seaweed Harvester Crew member to assist in harvesting, gathering, and transporting seaweed. Responsibilities include vessel maintenance and assisting the wider resource operations team. The ideal candidate will possess a RYA Day Skipper qualification (or equivalent) and a UK driving license.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assisting in the mechanical harvesting, gathering and transportation of seaweed to collection points
  • General upkeep and maintenance across a fleet of purpose-built vessels
  • Assisting the wider resource operations team on varied day to day tasks

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:

  • RYA Day Skipper Practical (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving License preferred
  • ML5 or ENG1 Medical Certificate (current or able to obtain)
  • Happy to work in variable maritime conditions
  • Enjoys working as part of a team

Mechanical Seaweed Harvester Crew – Uist

[Employer hidden], located about five miles from Lochmaddy on the Island of North Uist, is a seaweed processor that has been drying seaweeds since 2014. This region of Scotland has a long and proud history of harvesting seaweed and creating jobs and economic growth from this renewable marine resource.

The Role:

  • Assisting in the mechanical harvesting, gathering and transportation of seaweed to collection points
