Summary
The Project Support Officer is responsible for coordinating and delivering business projects, working closely with the Project Manager. This role involves planning, execution, scheduling tasks, managing risks, liaising with stakeholders, monitoring finances, and controlling budgets to ensure project efficiency and success. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Develop an understanding of business analysis, agile and scrum fundamentals
- Reporting on progress, resources, finance or costings
- Overseeing projects, mitigating risks and solving issues
- Scheduling meetings and setting agendas for the project team
- Internal and external stakeholder management
- Updating project records
- Build a joint understanding of the requirements across the other stakeholders, including designers, developers and testers
- Manage expectations and problem-solving to establish relationships built on trust and delivery
- Assisting in procuring services: including writing procurement specifications and documentation in accordance with Council procedures.
- working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and managing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Summary and Purpose
The Project Support Officer is responsible for the coordination and delivery of a business project, working closely alongside the Project Manager. The PSO organises the planning and execution of a project which includes scheduling tasks, risk and progress management, liaising with stakeholders, as well as monitoring finances and controlling budgets.
A PSO acts as the driving force and has a direct impact on the efficiency and overall success of the project. This requires excellent communication, organisational skills, logical thinking and problem solving

Main Duties

Experience Required Essential:
- Demonstrable experience working in a similar role
- Experience in eliciting and documenting business requirements
- Able to build and develop good client relationships
Education / Training / Qualifications required
- Degree desirable but not essential
- GCSE’s, B Tech, A Levels (All courses)
- A’ level or higher qualification in English language
- Plain English qualification
- proof reading experience
- a project-based qualification

- Self-motivated and a can-do attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening, negotiating and presentation skills
- Ability to operate collaboratively with colleagues is essential
- Understanding of stakeholder management

- excellent data interrogation skills, via the use of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Willingness to learn and be agile in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to listen and retain new information quickly to disseminate to relevant internal stakeholders
