Summary

As experts in the technology of light, [Employer hidden] works with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications. We are currently recruiting for temporary Optical Workers in our Polishing department; the role involves polishing ultraprecision optics to reduce surface roughness to give them superior performance in demanding applications.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • To set up machinery, processes and equipment to enable the safe manufacture of optics throughout the production process
  • To follow written procedures to ensure the best methods and equipment are used at any given time
  • Take responsibility of department/cell quality, output, safety and improvement targets
  • Clean production equipment and work areas
  • Inspect and clean optics to required specification
  • Follow the MRB process for non-conforming parts
  • Ensure history card and other documentation is completed

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths and Science (Grade C+)
  • Used to working to tight deadlines
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Good with problem solving and results orientated
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good manual handling skills
  • Flexibility and openness to working overtime when required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy
