Summary
To assist clients of Westwood Homecare to be able to remain independent in their own homes and provide care and support on a flexible basis.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provide personal care in line with the duties identified in the home cares handbook, ensuring that the person’s dignity and self-esteem are maintained at all times.
- Assist people to develop and maintain a high standard of personal/domestic hygiene.
- Support people in the taking of medication in line with the medication policy.
- Undertake tasks that seek to support and offer respite to carers, e.g. sitting services.
- Undertake preparation and cooking meals.
- Undertake simple domestic tasks.
- Report any changes which may affect the clients care plan and report any serious mishaps and accidents to management
- Report any hazards or potential hazards that may affect your ability to carry out duties of the post.
- Undertake an induction program and other training for the role.
- All staff working for Westwood Homecare are expected to respond appropriately to any concerns they may have regarding abuse/inappropriate treatment of vulnerable adults. This will mean alerting a manager. The protection of vulnerable adults is core responsibility at all times.

To meet these objectives, Westwood Homecare, along with other professionals will carry out various assessments in order to create a client’s individual care plan.
Specific objectives:
- Provide personal care in line with the duties identified in the home cares handbook, ensuring that the person’s dignity and self-esteem are maintained at all times,

- Wages are paid weekly, wages will be calculated by visits attended.
