Key Requirements: Relevant building surveying degree and/or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent demonstratable experience, Membership of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Full driving licence, Asbestos awareness training Regulation 10 (COAR2006), SMSTS and/or equivalent qualification.
Key Skills: A thorough understanding of UK building regulations, construction methods, and materials, Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, Detailed knowledge of all building crafts and building pathology, Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction and building maintenance.
Qualifications:
Essential or Desirable
- Relevant building surveying degree and/or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent demonstratable experience
- Membership of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors
- Full driving licence
- Asbestos awareness training Regulation 10 (COAR2006)
- SMSTS and/or equivalent qualification
Knowledge and Experience:
- A thorough understanding of UK building regulations, construction methods, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- A detailed understanding of UK building regulations, construction methods, and materials .
- To have detailed knowledge of all building crafts and building pathology
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to construction and building maintenance.
- Ability to provide witness statements for use in a Court of Law
- Experience of ‘lone’ building surveying in a relevant sector

- Analytical skills, with an understanding of the theoretical nature of the work they are undertaking, with the ability to draw conclusions and present recommendations.
- Ability to work autonomously to plan, organise and control works/site-based activities, including labour, plant and materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively and cause understanding in others, drawing on technical and specialist knowledge to develop recommendations and guidance.
- Able to write reports and present to Senior Managers
- Ability to work often independently within a framework of systems/procedures.
