Summary
The Research Engineer will work on numerical modeling, client engagement, and project management. They will be expected to use their initiative, apply critical thinking, and lead customer engagement. The role requires experience in STEM subjects, numerical modelling, and programming.

- Minimum 2:1 degree in a STEM subject
- A sound technical background in Physics, Maths, Engineering or Applied Computing domains
- Knowledge of programming, for example C/C++, Python or MATLAB
- Leading engagements with clients

About the role:
The role is suited to an individual who has a background in a STEM subject with an interest in numerical modelling and interfacing with external clients to solve real world problems. The Research Engineer will have knowledge and an awareness of modelling and simulation methodologies, techniques and tools used throughout the engineering lifecycle. They will be expected to use their own initiative and apply critical thinking to evaluate candidate approaches and tools to achieve project goals. The Research Engineer will have experience in collaborating with clients, leading both technical and non-technical discussions, and developing customer ideas into viable project plans. They will be expected to lead customer engagement and manage the delivery of projects whilst also contributing to the technical work, including representing the company on projects, such as acting as the face of [Employer hidden] within consortiums.

Experience:
- Minimum 2:1 degree in a STEM subject
- A sound technical background in Physics, Maths, Engineering or Applied Computing domains
- Knowledge of programming, for example C/C++, Python or MATLAB
- Knowledge of optimisation and sensitivity analysis techniques would be advantageous
- Writing numerical simulations in code
