Summary

Fairhurst is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer for their London office. The role involves leading and managing structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include technical leadership, design coordination, structural assessment, analysis, and report preparation.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Technical lead on structural engineering projects.
  • Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives.
  • Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
  • Undertake analysis and design of structures using a range of software packages including Tekla Structural Designer and Fastrak Building Designer.
  • Ensure that quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports etc.) is maintained.
  • Prepare high quality technical reports including structural surveys.
  • Responsible to providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.

About the Role –

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join the London Office. This opportunity would suit a Senior Structural Engineer who can lead and manage structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project, client requirements. The successful candidate will have the chance to work in one of the UK’s leading private Engineering Consultancies, providing integrated solutions for a range of public and private clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Technical lead on structural engineering projects.
  • Liaise with and lead other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution that meets the Clients objectives.
  • Structural engineering assessment and inspection of new and existing properties in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
  • Undertake analysis and design of structures using a range of software packages including Tekla Structural Designer and Fastrak Building Designer.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Chartered or near Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE).
  • Varied experience in all the common forms of construction and building types.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, British Standards).
  • Excellent report writing, communication and numerical skills required.
  • Experience of structural analysis design and software essential.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Full clean driving license
