FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and highly organised SOUS CHEF to assist with the day to day running of the KITCHEN TEAM, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and service.

  • Key responsibilities will be to assist the Head Chef with all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking and presentation;
  • assisting with the supervision and training of the Kitchen Team, ensuring they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards;
  • helping to oversee inventory management, including stock ordering and rotation, managing cost control measures to optimise profitability;
  • plus deputising in the Head Chef’s absence, including organising staff rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels.
  • The successful applicant needs to have strong leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team, be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen, whilst maintaining attention to detail, as well as having excellent food presentation skills, plus a knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, together with strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

POSITION: SOUS CHEF.

RATE OF PAY: Competitive and negotiable.

ADDITIONAL: Customer tips are shared between the Restaurant Team on a weekly basis.

CONTRACT TYPE: Temporary (up to 31st October 2025).

CONTRACT HOURS: Full time hours (40 hours).

WORK SHIFTS: Between Monday to Sunday, with evening and weekend working required.

OTHER INFO: Due to our location and the work shifts, your own transport would be beneficial. Car share / transport may be available.
