Summary
The Healthcare Support Worker is responsible for providing essential support to healthcare professionals and patients in a variety of healthcare settings. This role involves assisting with patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the smooth operation of the healthcare facility.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with bed making, room cleaning, and patient transfers.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and equipment.
- Ensure that the healthcare facility is maintained in a clean and safe condition.
- Assist with laundry and linen handling.
- Assist with clerical tasks, such as filing, data entry, and answering phones.
- Coordinate patient appointments and schedules.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other team members to provide quality patient care.
- Assist with training new staff members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor
- Compassionate and caring attitude
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
