FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

Sernova Financial is seeking a Junior Application Support Analyst to provide support for their trading system "Calypso" and other applications. The role involves testing, training, client support, and problem-solving within the UK, with the primary work hours of 09:00 am - 18:00 pm. Candidates should have a degree in finance, sciences, or mathematics and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application support for the trading system “Calypso”, in-house and 3rd party applications
  • Testing application patches and upgrades
  • Training end users
  • Supporting users of our client web portal
  • Supporting the client onboarding process
  • Documenting support processes, creating how-to guides and WIKI pages
  • Logging issues and following through to resolution
  • Working with 3rd party software helpdesk teams
  • Suggesting solutions to Technology team to simplify or automate the support process
  • Monitoring scheduled tasks, log files and performance
  • Investigating and resolving issues safely and in a timely manner

Core Requirements

  • BSc/Masters in Finance, Sciences or Mathematics
  • Presents examples of applied creative thinking, innovation and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work and communicate with IT professionals and end users at all seniority levels
  • Able to communication with the business to understand requirements and present solutions clearly and concisely
  • Self-starter who will drive resolutions and improvements rather than just follow instructions and maintain the existing status quo
  • Able to take a complex issue, identify the causes and prioritise the work necessary
  • Driven to achieve fast results and provide solutions
  • A strong interest Capital Markets, Clearing and Technology
