Summary

As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you'll drive the Meaningful Activities Programme, building strong relationships with partners in Lewisham and beyond. Your Role:

As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be the driving force behind our Meaningful Activities Programme, creating opportunities for young people by building robust relationships with statutory and third sector specialist partners in the borough and beyond. You will be the single point of contact (SPOC) for external agencies and promote our service at borough-wide networking and practice development days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote & Broker Relationships: Champion our service to external agencies and cultivate positive multi-agency relationships to create opportunities for service users to access wider provisions.
  • Develop Referral Pathways: Establish robust referral pathways into statutory and third sector providers in the borough.
  • Volunteer Programme Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers and peer mentors to support service users and enrich our activities programme.
  • Volunteer Development: Ensure volunteers are trained to provide information, support, and signposting to relevant services, offer advice and encouragement, and empower young people to make positive and informed life choices.
  • Supervise Volunteers: Provide individual and group supervision for volunteers.
  • Represent Our Service: Attend and participate in relevant meetings, presenting reports and giving presentations as required.
  • Maintain Service Environment: Ensure the service environment is well-maintained, clean, tidy, and safe, addressing any issues directly or through relevant third parties.
  • Resource Management: Use resources efficiently, ensuring proper use and security, and working within budget and financial limits.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Maintain professional relationships and appropriate confidentiality while working in a multi-agency setting.
  • Local Forums & Partnerships: Attend local forums to develop partnerships, establish volunteer recruitment pathways, and create multi-agency working opportunities.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to protocols and policies of statutory agency partners, respond to complaints, challenge anti-social behaviour, and maintain up-to-date records and reports.
