Summary

As a Housing Officer, you will manage housing and provide essential support to vulnerable individuals, ensuring they have the resources and skills to transition to independent living. The Community Accommodation with Support, tier 2 (CAS-2) contract is a high-profile commission direct from the Ministry of Justice. Operating in every region across England and Wales. CAS-2 provide accommodation, support to low and medium risk offenders that are eligible for a home detention curfew or bail that would otherwise be held in prison because they do not have accommodation in the community. Role Overview:

As a Housing Officer, you will manage housing and provide essential support to vulnerable individuals, ensuring they have the resources and skills to transition to independent living. Your responsibilities will include property management, support planning, and working closely with external partners to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Housing & Property Management:
  • Visit properties weekly to ensure they meet Decent Homes Standards, report repairs, and manage cleaning and maintenance.
  • Maintain properties and manage tenancy agreements.
  • Create and review person-centered support and safety plans for service users.
  • Provide a minimum of two hours of support weekly to each service user, updating plans and encouraging goal achievement.
  • Develop move-on plans for service users to identify realistic housing options, including independent living or more appropriate housing.
  • Support users with practical tasks and life skills development.
  • Work with Probation Services, housing authorities, and other agencies to provide coordinated support.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Maximize rent collection and assist service users with Housing Benefit claims and rent payments.
  • Ensure all paperwork and claims are completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify and address anti-social behavior and ensure appropriate records are kept.
  • Regularly update the Resident Record Database and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and service delivery standards.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in housing management or support roles, particularly with vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong understanding of property management, housing benefit systems, and tenancy agreements.
  • Ability to work with individuals involved in the criminal justice system and help them reintegrate successfully.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS check and Prison Clearance required.
