Summary

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a passionate teacher to help young people learn and achieve in hairdressing apprenticeships at Totton College. The role involves teaching, assessing, and supporting students pastorally, with a focus on preparing them for their next steps. The position is part-time, term-time only.

Key Responsibilities/Duties include:

  • Preparing for learning by planning lessons, developing resources, and caring for our classroom spaces,
  • Monitoring students’ progress on their course, providing feedback and support so that students can improve,
  • Assessing students and their work so that they achieve as expected and as needed for their next steps,
  • Working with your colleagues to enhance delivery, identify support needs, and contributing to student experience and enrichment,
  • You may be asked to deliver tutorial or skills lessons as part of your role using our ready-made lessons resources.

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills include:

  • English & Maths GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent
  • Vocational specialist qualification to the level required by the AO that we use or significant industry experience if not specified by AO OR Willingness to work towards vocational qualifications to or above the level(s) being taught and English & Maths Level 2
  • Must follow internal development programme for teachers through to Level 5 DIT

Job type: Part-time - (Term Time only)

Hours:     7.4hrs (One day per week)

Salary:   £29.21 per hour

Location: Totton College

We are seeking someone who is passionate about helping young people to learn and achieve, and who can help them be ready to take their next steps. We need someone who is compassionate in their approach, and who can work with young people who may have had multiple barriers to education in the past. We want someone who is flexible and can be part of a small, local team who come together in all circumstances to put our students first.

What will I be doing as a teacher at [Employer hidden]?

As a key member of the teaching team, your main focus will always be teaching, learning, and assessment, supporting students to make appropriate progress in lessons, resulting in them achieving qualifications. You will also play an important role within the centre community, supporting your students pastorally, and will have duties related to assurance, making sure our courses run on time, and to a high standard.
