The successful candidate will be part of the in-house development team and be responsible for developing and maintaining the systems that are used in their offices around the world. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and highly productive quality-driven professional to join an agile team supporting this global business in capitalising on new and exciting opportunities and further reinforcing its dominant position in the marketplace.
The company works on a J2EE stack with Oracle, JBoss, Struts, Spring and JSP technologies to name a few. JQuery and HTML knowledge is also highly desirable. They use SVN for source control and Jenkins to run continuous builds. We automatically deploy to a local development server daily so that their dedicated QA team can test what they build the following day. They use JIRA to monitor their progress but they rely more on their Kanban boards for daily information.
Experience working within an agile environment is preferred. You should have hands-on commercial experience of delivering high quality solutions in a team environment. The company are looking for a mid to senior level developer and you will be expected to write code in the interview that reflects your in-depth knowledge of both Java and frameworks.
More than this, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator, with both technical and non-technical staff, and a whole-hearted team player. A fast learner, you’re not afraid to contribute fresh ideas, challenge the norm and champion positive change. An upbeat attitude and strong sense of humour will also serve you well.
