Summary
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. Our Client has a requirement for a Mechanical Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Reading.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
- Deliver mechanical designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation / standards associated with mechanical design engineering.
- Application of knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality, and be a great team player.
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills
- ONC / OND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or other related discipline
- Professional membership of an engineering institution at Eng. Tech level.
- Producing mechanical designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.
- Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
- HNC / HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or other related discipline
- Able to work on a nuclear licensed site

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.
Our Client has a requirement for a Mechanical Design Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Reading.
Role Purpose:
- Provide mechanical designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) such that utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment and facilities are compliant with legislation, standards and requirements associated with engineering design throughout the facility lifecycle.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver mechanical designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation / standards associated with mechanical design engineering.
- Application of knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality, and be a great team player.
- Deliver mechanical engineering designs that address defined requirements, across the full engineering lifecycle, to a high standard.
- Ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the lifecycle, liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is maintained.
- Ensure compliance with Company Assurance Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) and statutory requirements.
- Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.
- Elevate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
