FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Assistant Grower will be responsible for technical day-to-day growing, including irrigation and fertigation management, site maintenance, and assessing plants for diseases and pests. They will also order pesticides and perform machinery maintenance.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Technical day to day growing- irrigation management, fertigation management, general site maintenance and scheduled maintenance (machines, vehicles and boiler’s service and expectations)
  • Assess plants for disease, pests and husbandry practice.
  • Ordering pesticides
  • Machinery maintenance

Core Requirements / Qualifications / Skills

  • Good level of experience with pest and disease within soft fruit industry.
  • Understanding of a variety of different nutrition levels, conductivity and water quality requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience with irrigation systems, injectors and controllers – drip and overhead.
  • Drive and ambition to move forward within the company.

Preferred qualifications

- Agricultural/ horticultural qualification.

- PA1, PA6/ PA9.

- Clean driving licence.

- Forklift driving experience.

Working hours

Flexibility in working hours is required to meet the seasonal growing schedules.
