FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

iSIGHT is looking for an Ophthalmic Nurse (RGN) to work at their Southport hospital and outreach clinics in West Lancashire. The role involves pre-operative assessments, admissions and discharges for surgical patients, post-operative screening, and supporting consultants. Candidates need to be RGN or ODP qualified with a valid NMC or HCPC registration and 1 year of experience. This is a full-time position, but part-time will be considered, offering 20 days holiday, company healthcare, a pension scheme, and study leave. Driving is essential.

Ophthalmic Nurse (RGN): Job Description

iSIGHT has been providing excellence in eye care for over 25 years.

Due to an extension of our normal working practices, we currently have a vacancy for an Ophthalmic Nurse at our main hospital site in Southport, and our out-reach clinics within West Lancashire.

As specialists in eye-care we offer services in refractive surgery, laser eye surgery, cataracts, Intravitreal injections, Glaucoma, Ocular plastics, Orthoptics, etc.

You must be RGN or ODP qualified and have a valid NMC or HCPC registration. The main duties of the role;

  • Pre-operative assessment
  • Admissions for Surgical patients
  • Discharge for surgical patients
  • Post-operative screening
  • Supporting Consultants with Clinics

The successful candidate will be up to date in current practices, including infection prevention controls.

Requirements:

  • • Registered Nurse with up to date NMC or Registered ODP with up to date HCPC registration
  • • 1 years’ experience working as a RGN, scrub nurse or ODP
  • • Strong communication skills
  • • ALS is desirable

In addition, you will also need to possess:

  • • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word
  • • Flexibility & use of a car as travel to nearby sites is required

This role has been created as an extension to our normal working hours will include evenings and weekends.

This is a permanent position based at our main hospital in Southport, Merseyside, and our outreach clinics in West Lancashire. Driving is essential for this post.
