FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Multi-Skilled Engineer will be responsible for completing all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works within a technical environment, ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence. You will utilize your expertise in electrical and HVAC systems to manage client assets in a critical telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with H&S regulations, Risk Assessment, F-Gas, Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work, COSHH, etc
  • Undertake PPM, proactive, and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within relevant SLAs
  • Focus on air conditioning duties with first-line reactive maintenance for electrical and switchgear issues
  • Provide minimum 1-in-4 out-of-hours callout response as detailed in the callout rota
  • Fully qualified in Air Conditioning or fully qualified in Electrical work with a solid understanding of both fields

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills

  • Experience in completing PPMs and Reactive works
  • Willingness to undertake other FM-related tasks around the sites as needed

Job Description

Working independently and under minimal supervision, you will utilise your expertise in electrical and HVAC systems to manage client assets in a critical telecommunications environment.

This role covers just four sites, with a company van and fuel card provided for ease of travel. Starting each day from Reading, all travel is completed within working hours, offering a convenient and efficient schedule.

You will bring experience in completing PPMs and reactive works, along with a willingness to undertake other FM-related tasks around the sites as needed.

The ideal candidate will be either fully air conditioning qualified or hold full electrical qualifications with a strong understanding of HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with H&S regulations, Risk Assessment, F-Gas, Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work, COSHH, etc
  • Undertake PPM, proactive, and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within relevant SLAs
  • Ability to complete tasks exceeding customer expectations
  • Focus on air conditioning duties with first-line reactive maintenance for electrical and switchgear issues
  • Provide minimum 1-in-4 out-of-hours callout response as detailed in the callout rota
  • Perform occasional planned night working as per the PPM schedule
  • Undertake contractor control duties, including monitoring contractors and their workmanship, ensuring relevant standards, and issuing Permits to Work
  • Ensure equipment operates to specified performance criteria
  • Ensure equipment and surrounding areas conform to agreed company standards
  • Provide a professional service, representing the company to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Evaluate performance to ensure proper servicing and maintenance of contracted equipment
  • Take a proactive approach to client liaison, addressing or relaying concerns as necessary
  • Maintain awareness of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times
  • Ensure timely administration and accurate maintenance of all necessary documents/records
  • Provide asset information updates as part of the PPM process

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Fully qualified in Air Conditioning or fully qualified in Electrical work with a solid understanding of both fields
  • Experience in completing PPMs and Reactive works
  • Willingness to undertake other FM-related tasks around the sites as needed
