Summary
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking an NLP Specialist to design and develop NLP models, apply transformer-based models, fine-tune large language models, build pipelines for text data, collaborate with teams, and evaluate model performance.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Designing and developing NLP models for tasks like text classification, sentiment analysis, entity recognition, and summarization
- Applying transformer-based models (e.g., BERT, GPT, RoBERTa) to real-world applications
- Fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) for domain-specific use cases
- Building pipelines to preprocess and clean large volumes of unstructured text data
- Collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver end-to-end NLP solutions
- Evaluating model performance and optimizing for accuracy, speed, and scalability
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong experience in NLP, computational linguistics, or applied machine learning
- Hands-on knowledge of Hugging Face, spaCy, NLTK, or similar libraries
- Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Understanding of LLMs, attention mechanisms, and transformer architectures
- Ability to translate business problems into NLP-driven solutions
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Linguistics, AI, or related field preferred
