Summary

Conducting digital forensics investigations on compromised systems, networks, and devices to gather evidence. Performing analysis of log files, system images, and volatile data to determine the cause and impact of security incidents. Working closely with law enforcement or internal teams to preserve and document evidence for legal and compliance purposes. Developing and maintaining forensic tools and methodologies for evidence collection and analysis. Creating detailed forensic reports, presenting findings, and making recommendations to improve security measures.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Conducting digital forensics investigations on compromised systems, networks, and devices to gather evidence
  • Performing analysis of log files, system images, and volatile data to determine the cause and impact of security incidents
  • Working closely with law enforcement or internal teams to preserve and document evidence for legal and compliance purposes
  • Developing and maintaining forensic tools and methodologies for evidence collection and analysis
  • Creating detailed forensic reports, presenting findings, and making recommendations to improve security measures

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills

  • Proven experience as a Digital Forensics Specialist or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of forensic tools and techniques for data recovery, analysis, and evidence preservation (e.g., EnCase, FTK, X1, Sleuth Kit)
  • Experience with file systems, operating systems, and network protocols in relation to digital forensics
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements around data privacy, evidence handling, and chain of custody
  • Certifications such as CHFI, EnCE, or GIAC are highly desirable
