Summary

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our grocery store team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing transactions accurately and efficiently. You will be the face of the store at checkout, ensuring that each customer’s experience is positive and smooth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the cash register and handle all customer purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately.
  • Greet customers, answer queries, and assist with any issues that arise during checkout.
  • Process payments via cash, credit/debit cards, vouchers, and other forms of payment.
  • Pack customer purchases efficiently, ensuring items are handled with care.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and balance the cash drawer at the end of shifts.
  • Provide information on promotions, store layout, and products to customers when necessary.
  • Assist in restocking shelves and maintaining the checkout area’s cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Handle customer complaints or refer them to the manager when necessary.
  • Follow all store policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

  • Previous cashier or retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
