FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Cellar Assistant will be responsible for carrying out all post-production work planned and will be overseen by the Cellar Supervisor. They will assist in keeping all production activities safe, qualitative and finished within timescales provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting disgorging operations
  • Assisting all labelling operations, by hand or machine
  • Assisting the reception of goods and dispatch of orders
  • Keeping the equipment clean and serviceable
  • Keeping the cellar tidy
  • Assisting in keeping the workplace a safe working environment
  • Assisting in maintaining appropriate records
  • Assisting with Bottling and Harvest
  • Assisting the Cellar Supervisor with inventory movements and reconciliation.

Key Requirements

  • A reasonable level of spoken and written English
  • Previous experience in a winery and cellar not essential but favourable
  • Forklift licence an advantage
  • Driving licence ideal due to the location
  • Self-motivated and well organised
  • Reliable
  • Attention to detail.

Reporting to: Post-production manager, Cellar Supervisor and Winemakers.

Working with: Cellar Supervisor, Cellar Assistant, Winery Assistant, Agency workers.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm with flat rate overtime during bottling / harvest / as required to the business needs.

Education and experience:

  • A reasonable level of spoken and written English
