# Care Assistant Job Introduction

Thistle Court Care Home (Cwmbran) supports people who can no longer live on their own, who need support with day to day living, who need to be supported to live independently, happy and with fulfilment.

To be a Care Assistant you don’t need to have any experience or qualifications in care, what you do need though is compassion and to be able to have empathy and show kindness for others.

The home offers an ever-continuing support network which starts here at application stage where we talk you through what to expect and what you will be doing when working in a care home.  The two-week induction, buddy & mentoring system, fun continuous online & classroom training and a 24/7 welfare support team – are here to support you; you really are never alone when working at Thistle Court.

Skills & Requirements

To join our team, our family, as a Care Assistant, you don’t have to have previous experience working in a care or nursing home.

What you will need to have, is the ability to understand another’s feelings, to become one with that persons emotions, to put yourself in their shoes and imagine what they’re going through – to be empathetic.
