Summary

Skilled/semi-skilled Boning Hall Operatives are required to work at the Shrewsbury site, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for additional hours. The role involves working within the butchery team to meet customer demand, ensuring quality and pace, boning out/trimming products to specification, maximizing yield, and minimizing waste. Previous butchery experience and knife skills are essential.

Job Role:

We require skilled/semi skilled Boning Hall Operatives to work in our Shrewsbury Site in Shropshire. Working from 6:30am, Monday to Friday, this role requires flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours when required to meet customer demand in the preparation of a fresh product.

Working within the butchery team to complete the daily planning order to a high standard ensuring that quality and pace are maintained.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all products are boned out/trimmed to meet customer/company specifications whilst also maximising yield and minimising waste.
  • Breakdown beef cuts to customer/company specification.
  • Learn and understand all cuts of the beef carcass.
  • Carry out all tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly with regard to health and safety and food safety.
  • Drive and deliver necessary processing efficiency through consistent and correct equipment operation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality, HSE, animal welfare, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and handling processes.
  • Follow traceability process and ensure product and labelling integrity at all times.

Knowledge and Experience:

Previous butchery experience in a food production environment is essential.

Ability to demonstrate knife skills for the skilled roles, or willingness to learn in semi-skilled/ trainee roles.
