Summary

Bellavista Nursing Home Group is excited to introduce a progressive new care opportunity in the Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan. They are looking to recruit experienced care givers with a skill set that can be applied to those living with Young Onset Dementia. Meadow Vale Cwtch is a proposed new group living nurse led service for those who need care and support but diagnosed with organic brain disease before 65 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fluid care giving, moving between care, cleaning and laundry support.
  • Supporting individuals with their day-to-day needs.
  • Working in a small team.

Core Requirements

  • Diploma in Health and Social Level 3 (or currently enrolled).
  • Two years’ experience working with young onset dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.
  • Excellent communication skills.

We are looking to recruit experienced care givers with a skill set that can be applied to those living with Young Onset Dementia. Meadow Vale Cwtch is a proposed new group living nurse led service for those who need care and support but diagnosed with organic brain disease before 65 years. The service aims to create a relaxed but focussed approach to mental health in small 9 bed group living arrangement. The service will be led by the persons themselves and supported to meet their own identified outcomes. As part of that service delivery you will be a fluid care giver, happy to move between care, cleaning and laundry support to help the individual manage their own day to day needs as a collaborative partnership. You will be experienced in dementia care, demonstrate emotional intelligence, have patience, empathy and are able to work in a small team well.

Required

  • Diploma in Health and Social Level 3 (or currently enrolled)
  • Equivalent nursing or access to nursing qualification
  • Two years’ experience working with young onset dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Flexible shift working days and nights on rotation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Calm and pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Pro teamworking skills

Desirable

  • Previous care home experience at supervisor level
  • Evidence of lifelong learning and progression of role

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From £12.00-12.10 per hour
