Summary
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is looking for Electrical Engineers to join their growing team for high voltage projects, involving design for Transmission & Distribution projects, both domestically and internationally. The role involves client site visits and the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for various design elements, reporting to a Lead Electrical Engineer/Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the production of electrical engineering on projects assigned to you.
- Work closely with civil designer to ensure civil aspects meet electrical equipment requirements.
- Act as single point of contact (SPOC) with Utility provider and client owners engineer.
- Manage electrical & civil design logs from Utility provider and client owners engineer.
- Manage design pack submittals to Utility provider and client owners engineer.
- Assist with the preparation of procurement specifications for the main primary plant including HV power transformers, HV circuit breakers, HV switchgear and NERs.
- Review supplier documents and schematics to ensure equipment is compliant with technical specifications and functional specifications.
- Responsible for the preperation of physical HV layouts, electrical systems, secondary control and protection systems and single line diagrams.
- Responsible for the preperation of HV system studies including protection coordination, voltage regulation, load flow and fault level reports.
- Attend Utility provider and client owners engineer meetings as required.
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
- Honours Electrical Engineering Degree or similar.
- Minimum 2 Years’ Experience in a similar role with HV contractor or utility.
- Working knowledge of design software to include ETAP, Eplan, AutoCAD . Cymcap,Autodesk, Advnced Steel.
- People management skills.
- Strong Communications Skills .
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Team player who demonstrates high level of initiative .
- On site commissioning experience desireable.
