The M & D Green Group offers a Trainee Pharmacist Programme, a graduate scheme for pharmacists in Scotland, providing pre-registration training since 1999. The program includes paid summer placements for pharmacy students to determine candidates for trainee pharmacist positions. Successful candidates are guaranteed a pre-registration training place. The program offers training based on clinical and professional competencies, preparation for NES Assessment Centre/Oriel process, support and mentoring, and various other benefits.
Our Programme
We have been providing pre-registration training for graduate pharmacists since 1999 and our tutor pharmacists have many years' experience in training graduates for the ever-increasing challenges of community pharmacy.
Each year we offer summer placements for third year pharmacy students who are looking to pursue a career in community pharmacy. These paid placements usually last at least eight weeks and are available in each of our branches across Central Scotland. Placements not only provide a structured learning environment for students but also help to determine candidates for trainee pharmacist positions.
Successful candidates who perform well during summer placement and secure NES funding are guaranteed a pre-registration training place.
Recruitment for summer placements begins in November and interested students should ensure their CVs are submitted as early as possible to be considered.
Benefits
We are the biggest pre-registration training provider in Central Scotland and candidates on our preferred list always perform incredibly well during the NES assessment process. We have a superb success rate, with 98% of our summer placement students receiving funding.
