Summary
The Junior Account Executive will be responsible for managing client PR accounts, pitching press releases, arranging interviews with journalists, monitoring media coverage, and assisting with account planning. They will also need to establish and maintain relationships with media contacts and ensure all work meets the highest standards.
- Day-to-day management and running of client PR accounts.
- Brainstorm fresh ideas for client PR campaigns
- Pitch press releases and feature ideas to journalists, across print, broadcast, and online platforms, to interest them in covering the client’s stories.
- Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople - in person or over the phone - and facilitate these meetings where appropriate.
- Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and client.
- Attend client events and relevant industry events.
- Assist senior management in developing and implementing monthly account planning and activities.
- Identify and place clients in targeted high-level media and blog opportunities.
- Establish strong relationships with knowledge of relevant media and blogs to generate awareness of client’s products, services, thought leadership, or activities.
- Understand what success means to the client, then deliver on those results.
- Add creative insight and problem-solving to all of the above on a consistent basis.
- Ensure all work is performed and delivered to the best possible standard within time and budget.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail in all written communications, internal and external, including grammar, spelling, tone, clear structure, and newsworthiness where relevant.
- Help grow client accounts organically, pro-actively highlighting new media coverage and highlighting any potential issues that may arise.
