Summary
A lawyer sought by a leading Investment Management FinTech company. My client offers a SaaS backed platform which supports a range of high end funds and asset managers. They are looking for a dynamic lawyer to join an exciting team which is doubling by the end of the year, offering a unique opportunity to join at an exciting time! The General Counsel is looking for an exceptional lawyer, who can operate Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) platform, be self-motivated and be able to provide complete support, of the investment management lifecycle, to their clients. Commercial acumen is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing legal and regulatory life cycle events of a Luxembourg UCITS SICAV umbrella fund
- Coordinating submission and approval of prospectus updates with investment managers and the CSSF
- Reviewing and negotiating agreements for and on behalf of the fund
- Handling ad hoc requests from stakeholders of the fund (including the board of directors, administrator, management company and investment managers)
- Providing strategic legal advice to investment managers and the board of directors
- Contributing to strategic thinking on the commercialisation of fund platforms
- Liaising with external legal counsels and coordinating their work to meet deadlines
- Assisting with corporate and governance matters relating to the fund
- Assisting clients with legal queries (e.g. structuring funds, market standards in trading documents)
- Monitoring legal developments and their application to the business and the fund.
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills
- 1-4PQE, England & Wales qualified, however open to Foreign Qualified Lawyers
- Experience in either a top tier law firm or in-house environment (FCA-authorized firm, ideally)
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating agreements for funds is ideal
- Familiarity with umbrella structures and UCITS platforms with multiple investment managers

The General Counsel is looking for an exceptional lawyer, who can operate Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) platform, be self-motivated and be able to provide complete support, of the investment management lifecycle, to their clients. Both UK qualified and foreign qualified solicitors will be considered.
