Summary
A global social media company seeks a dynamic and experienced lawyer with experience in Information Security. The role focuses on supporting the global business, acting as the point of contact for Information Security in EMEA, and forming part of a global legal team specializing in Information Security, Cyber Security, and Data Privacy. The role involves incident response, ensuring effective data access and control processes, and legal risk mitigation for products. Candidates need to be qualified lawyers with 7+ PQE and experience with Cyber Security laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support development and implementation of information security and data governance processes and policies.
- Ensure compliance with global and EU security standards and regulations.
- Work closely with the infosec team and the EU privacy team on reviewing and responding to potential security and data privacy incidents.
- Work with legal and product teams globally to review products, features, new applications and initiatives to provide legal risk mitigation strategies to ensure legal compliance for products from an information security perspective.
- Coordinate with legal, information security, data privacy, and other cross-functional colleagues on communication, policy development, and enforcement decision
Core Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer and admitted to practice in the UK, Ireland and/or at least one EU jurisdiction with a minimum of 7PQE+
- Experience of Cyber Security Laws
- Experience in a consumer-facing digital application, ideally including user-generated content is advantageous.
- 3+ years of data governance or information security experience within a technology company. Background in data privacy preferred.

My client is a global social media company which has experienced significant hyper growth over the last 3 years. They are looking to add a dynamic and experienced lawyer who has experience with Information Security.
This role will focus on supporting the global business and being the point of contact for Information Security located in EMEA. You will form a part of a global legal team which is specialized on servicing the wider business on Information Security. This will include Cyber Security and Data Privacy. This role will serve the global business as the primary purpose with a smaller percentage focused on the EU region too.
This role offers variety and will involve anything from instant response to security and governance. You will work closely with the security and privacy team to ensure all data access and control processes are managed effectively.
This is a hands-on role and if you have experience with Cyber Secuity laws and compliance in EU - we want to hear from you.
