FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

A global organization is seeking a dynamic lawyer to join their legal team in London. The Legal Counsel will report directly to the Legal Director and be involved in a range of exciting commercial projects across the globe, focusing on areas such as ecommerce, digital activities, and risk mitigation strategies. The role requires a qualified lawyer with experience in multi-national transactions and commercial contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with senior management across the business to provide pragmatic solutions to legal issues.
  • Support the delivery of the Group’s innovation agenda, in particular across ecommerce and digital activities, enabling risk-taking through practical commercially-focussed advice.
  • Support the Group’s move to a solution-oriented business, ensuring suitable risk-mitigation strategies are in place in line with Group risk appetite.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to enable the delivery of the Group’s targets, balancing multiple local legal environments to ensure that the Group undertakes its business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (including anti-bribery, data protection and competition law).
  • Advise on material national and global Customer, Supplier and Distribution network contracts and support the business in negotiating these contracts to a conclusion.
  • Delivering a framework of policy and controls, training and awareness for a legal compliance topic.
  • In all activities, identify, assess and propose mitigation solutions to risks, to ensure all activities are within the risk appetite of the Group.

Core Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer (ideally within UK) however happy to consider common law qualified lawyers with UK experience with a minimum of 3 years PQE.
  • Experience handling multi-national transactions.
  • Broad experience of advising on substantive commercial contracts and transactions, including experience of multi-national legal requirements
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts in plain, simple and easily understood language.
  • Experience as an in-house lawyer (or on secondment)
  • Experience of trademark portfolios is desirable

This exciting and growing company is looking for a dynamic lawyer to join their legal team where you will report directly into the Legal Director. They are looking for an ambitious lawyer who is keen to get involved in a range of exciting projects where you will focus on a range of commercial projects across the globe from EMEA to APAC.

  • Build strong relationships with senior management across the business to provide pragmatic solutions to legal issues.
  • Support the delivery of the Group’s innovation agenda, in particular across ecommerce and digital activities, enabling risk-taking through practical commercially-focussed advice.
