FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

The role requires a Global Head of IT Infrastructure to work closely with the Senior IT Leadership Team and coordinate with the Global IT Team and key stakeholders, ensuring seamless IT operations. This includes managing IT Infrastructure delivery and support personnel, focusing on key skills like data storage, servers, and virtualization, as well as network security, and telephony. A strong commercial awareness and vendor management skills are essential.

  • Define and implement strategic and operational plans to ensure the on-going delivery of infrastructure services in all global locations. Maintain high performing infrastructure support functions.
  • Be accountable for the quality of service and performance of the team. Be responsible for the delivery of services within relevant Service Level Agreements and KPIs. Act as an internal escalation point for operational or security incidents.
  • Ensure future demand from growth and projects and BAU change is understood and factored into capacity plans for all associated systems.
  • Develop, implement and maintain relevant policies, processes, standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate and promote security best practices and risk management activities. In conjunction with the senior IT team, develop and enforce the organisation’s information security strategy.
  • Ensure a strong cyber security stance is maintained, that annual penetration tests are carried out, and that proactive and reactive measures are undertaken to apply security patches and mitigate risks as they become apparent.
  • Proactively manage assets, ensure things are kept up to date and in support, and ensure software is kept up to date.
  • Be responsible for ensuring sufficient data availability, replication and backup and ensuring that restore operations are regularly validated.
  • Ensure all systems are sufficiently monitored, and alerts are generated and actioned on relevant events.
  • Take overall responsibility for all global datacentre locations.
  • Be responsible for the technical elements of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for core infrastructure services and all office and datacentre locations, and ensure regular tests are carried out.
  • Deliver regular and accurate management reporting on key team activities.
  • Provide effective management of all IT Infrastructure staff including recruitment, mentoring, coaching, training, target setting and performance assessment.
  • Demonstrate strong vendor management.

You will have ten or more years of experience in Tech (ideally with some legal IT experience).You will also be or have:

  • Be a seasoned IT manager and have a diverse background of IT service delivery, technical operations and support, strong project and vendor management skills.
  • Be able to present and communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Be qualified to some extent within a technical or professional capacity.
  • Have proven experience in working with IT teams in complex and dynamic global environments requiring 24/7 support.
  • Have a good understanding of the information security landscape, key threats, trends and applicable systems and technologies.
  • Be a team player and help generate enthusiasm across IT team members and facilitate effective team communications and awareness.
  • Be able to plan and prioritise work and contributions from others to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently and alongside BAU work and meet deadlines.
  • Be organised, thorough and accurate and able to work under own initiative as well as part of a team, even when under pressure.
  • Have strong analysis, requirements gathering and problem solving skills.

Global Head of IT Infrastructure

Global Head of IT Infrastructure Location: London Salary: up-to £90K

The Client is a prestigious International Law Firm dedicated to client care, legal excellence and investment in its people. Over the years, the firm has seen constant expansion in term of size and have grown into becoming one of the leaders in transport and real estate. The firm has offices in multiple locations across the globe including New York, Hong Kong, Sydney and Dubai. Whilst the role will be based in London, international travel will be required from time to time.

The Role will have you work closely with the Senior IT Leadership Team while exclusively co-ordinating with the Global IT Team and key stakeholders within the firm to ensure seamless IT operations. This includes managerial duties for IT Infrastructure delivery and support personnel surrounding a number of key skills and data storage, servers and virtualisation, networks, security and telephony. Additionally, a strong commercial awareness is crucial as you will be keeping contact and co-ordinating with key suppliers while assisting with vendor selection processes.
