Summary
Seeking a Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial) to join a globally recognized leisure brand in London. The role involves advising on marketing and advertising law, negotiating commercial agreements, and collaborating with global legal teams. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in advertising, marketing, and contract law, with a minimum of 6+ PQE.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Advising on marketing and advertising law to the Global legal teams.
- Supporting the delivery of key marketing/advertising activities.
- Negotiating a range of commercial agreements.
- Advising the sales function on strategies to increase supply and demand in EMEA.
- Collaborating closely with the central legal teams across the globe with regional lawyers
- Draft and revise templates, internal processes, and policies.
- Instruct and manage outside counsel.
- Lead or assist with litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations that may arise in connection with the company’s marketing activities or commercial partnerships, as needed.
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
- Significant experience in the advertising, marketing, contract, and business practices laws within UK or EU.
- A minimum of 6+PQE with experience with an International Law Firm and experience of working for a global in-house team (secondment or permanent).
- Qualified in the UK or at least one EU jurisdiction.
Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial) - Globally Recognised Leisure Brand
I am working exclusively with a client who is a globally recognised brand that operates in the leisure space.

They want to add an exciting, bright lawyer to their Commercial team.
You will report directly to the Assistant General Counsel, EMEA, and will be joining a newly created role amongst the marketing and commercial team. This hybrid role will consist of a range of commercial work but focus on supporting the Creative team in their advertisement/marketing activities.
The Role
In charge of all marketing activities within EMEA, acting as the primary legal point of contact for the Comms team, including:
- Advising on marketing and advertising law to the Global legal teams.
- Problem-Solving
- Supporting the delivery of key marketing/advertising activities, including
- performance marketing, contests, co-branded partnerships, content production, referral, and other affiliated marketing projects.
- Acting as the primary legal point of contact for Sales, Business Operations, and API Connectivity teams, including:
- Negotiating a range of commercial agreements such as sponsorship / co-promotional agreements).
- Advising the sales function on strategies to increase supply and demand in EMEA.
- Collaborating closely with the central legal teams across the globe with regional lawyers
- Working closely with leadership to understand and execute on business strategy and priorities.
- Proactively draft and revise templates, internal processes, and policies. Keeping up-to-date with broader legal and regulatory developments impacting the business
- Ensuring the team is kept informed about relevant legal developments within the subject-matter expertise required for this role.
- Instruct and manage outside counsel.
- Lead or assist with litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations that may arise in connection with the company’s marketing activities or commercial partnerships, as needed.
The Requirements:
