FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

To offer support to senior members of coaching team and parents in order to provide a fun and friendly coaching environment.

Key Responsibilities/Duties include assisting the senior coach, leading skill-based drills, leading small-sided games, contributing to planning, organization, and delivery of activities, serving as a mini-bus escort, working as part of a team, ensuring health and safety, and supervising the play environment.

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills include knowledge of child development, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to manage time, knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, experience in managing children's behavior, and commitment to equal opportunities.

Main  Responsibilities:

  • To assist the senior coach in the setting to ensure its smooth and reliable service.
  • To lead a group of children in skill-based drills under the supervision of the senior coach.
  • To lead small-sided games in a safe and controlled environment under the supervision of the senior coach
  • To contribute to the planning, organisation and delivery of activities, ensuring they are adapted where appropriate to be accessible to all children
  • To be the mini-bus escort on a Friday afternoon in taking children to off-site football venue
  • To work as part of a team consisting of coaches & volunteers to ensure that the service provided is of the highest quality
  • To ensure that all your working practices operate within the organisational health and safety and procedures and to furthermore ensure that safeguarding and child protection policies are always adhered to
  • To supervise the play environment to ensure physical, emotional and personal safety for all children/young people attending. This includes keeping records of any accidents or injuries that may occur, and any medication administered
  • To ensure that all children and young people are made to feel valued and that they have positive experiences
  • To ensure that appropriate equipment is maintained and stored in line with current procedures
  • To assist in packing up of equipment, at the beginning and end of each session
