FULL DESCRIPTION
Summary
This role requires you to support our clients in their own homes with activities of daily living tasks such as personal care, medication support, meal preparation, domestic help, shopping, outings in the community, whilst at the same time maintaining and promoting their independence, dignity and choice. Shifts patterns are variable and available between 7 am and 10 pm: Successful applicants may need to be flexible in their working patterns and will need to work alternate weekends. Sleeping and waking nights are also available.
- Ensure Service Users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their well-being.
- To contribute to the efficient running of the service.
- Support Service Users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community.
- Ensure care plans and other information about how to support Service Users are followed.
- Be responsible for informing the Registered Manager of any changes in the needs of Service Users.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.
- Good general health and level of fitness as aspects of the role require moving and handling of people and equipment.
- Effective verbal and written skills.
- Ability to undertake appropriate training to achieve NVQ Level 2 Care Standard and other relevant training.
- An attitude towards others based on respect, dignity and equality.
- Ability to work alone or as a team member.
- Willing to meet the needs of clients according to individual care plans and in a manner appropriate to their lifestyle.
- Able to work flexible hours including some evenings, bank holidays and weekends.
