Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to manufacture components for high end car engine programs. The CNC Grinder will set and operate CNC and manual grinding machines, perform quality control, and maintain machinery.
- Set and operate CNC grinding machines (Junker & Kellenburger)
- Be able to set and operate manual grinding machines (cylindrical & surface)
- Manufacture/modify cams, cranks to support internal/external engine development programs along with any other component that needs a grinding process.
- Be able to use measuring equipment to ensure component compliance, (gauges, CMM’s Adcole)
- Perform basic TPM on all equipment including cleaning and lubrication.
- Mentor and instruct Juniors & apprentices to perform manufacturing operations when required.
- Be active with the introduction of new equipment and process changes.
- Be committed to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes, and tooling. Fulfil any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental objectives.
Core Requirements: Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information. Knowledge of multiple grinding methods. Experience with work holding methods. Conversant with machine code and the ability to problem solve. Knowledge of tool setting, measuring equipment and wheel mounting/dressing. Numerical and computer skills. Effective communicator.
Job Description
Duties of the grinder will be to manufacture camshafts, crankshafts, tooling and a variety of other engine components for super/hyper car manufacturers. Set & operate CNC and manual grinding machines, select and mount appropriate cutting tools required for the operations. Perform quality control checks using a variety of measurement equipment. Inspect and maintain machinery, tooling and equipment to ensure parts produced conform to specification and minimize production downtime.

Candidate Profile

- Be experienced with work holding methods.
- Be conversant with machine code and have the ability to problem solve.
- Knowledge of tool setting, measuring equipment and wheel mounting/dressing

- Effective communicator both verbal and written.
- Automotive engineering experience/background.
Working Hours
Week 1
Monday - Thursday: 06:00 to 14:00
Friday - 06:00 to 13:00
Week 2
Monday - Thursday: 14:00 to 22:00
Friday - 13:00 to 20:00
