Summary
The Senior Care Worker/Care Team Leader will professionally lead the care team, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient care delivery. They will provide care to residents according to their assessed needs, in line with CQC standards, including medication management, supervision of staff, and liaison with healthcare professionals.

The role of Senior Care Worker/Care Team Leader requires someone to professionally lead the care team throughout the day, ensuring that the care service provided is safe, effective, and efficient. The successful applicant will also provide care to residents in accordance with their assessed needs to CQC’s fundamental standards for quality and safety.
The key responsibilities for this job include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and support for care staff and act as a champion for residents’ safety and dignity, while maintaining skills and knowledge that care is delivered according to the latest guidelines
- To manage medication safely and accurately including ordering, booking in, setting up new medication cycle as well as auditing and keeping accurate records.
- Supervise care staff on a day-to-day basis and through formal supervision processes
- Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and other health and social care professionals to ensure that residents receive the medical and clinical support they require
- Ensure the ongoing safety of residents, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes.
The right candidate will have a minimum of an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, and will have experience of working with older people in a care setting. They will have the knowledge and use of clinical assessment tools, understand the care planning process, and have experience in leading and managing a shift. The candidate should have good supervisory skills, and good communication skills both written and verbal, and should be able to plan and delegate work appropriately.
