Summary
The Operations Officer role at Coram’s Fields involves managing procedures and systems to ensure the efficient and compliant running of the 7-acre site, services, events, and income streams. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills and the opportunity to combine them with a passion for helping young people.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Oversee and improve organizational procedures (IT, GDPR, Health & Safety, Fire Evacuation, incident management), ensuring staff are trained and procedures are documented on SharePoint.
- Develop and implement systems for more efficient, collaborative work across the charity, and improve office processes.
- Build and manage a volunteer infrastructure, including recruitment, induction, and ongoing oversight to provide a high-quality volunteer experience.
- Coordinate and manage a diverse programme of park events, ensuring safety, compliance, and success within budget while fostering community engagement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support capital projects and ensure the park operates effectively.
- Oversee commercial operations, including facility hire, marketing, pricing, and developing partnerships with local organisations and schools.
- Identify and explore new opportunities, partnerships, and experiences to generate income and enrich the local community.
- Support the Café Manager to increase café visibility, income, and integrate it with other park services.

Role Summary:
Coram’s Fields is a unique charity in the heart of Bloomsbury, London. In addition to our iconic 7-acre child-friendly park, we run a variety of services and enrichment programmes to support local young people and their families, including a nursery, an after-school and holiday club, a drop-in centre for parents of under-5s, a vibrant youth centre and a sports programme. We proactively host a wide variety of community events and celebrations, and our facilities are available for private hire to generate income for the charity.
The Operations Officer role is an integral part of the central team with responsibility for procedures, systems that support the effective, efficient, and compliant running of our seven-acre site, services, park events and oversight of income streams. It is an exciting and highly collaborative role offering a fantastic opportunity to combine effective communication and organisational skills with a passion for helping young people and a desire to develop commercial and business development experience.
