Summary
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Specialist Recruitment requires an experienced Band 7 Speech and Lang Therapist to work in Ilford. Responsibilities include managing a caseload of children with social communication disorders, providing high-quality therapy with families and other professionals, assessing and diagnosing clients, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. Experience in NHS within children neurodevelopment service is required.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Independently manage a caseload of children with social communication disorders, with a developing specialism in pre and post diagnostic ASD in various settings.
- Provide high quality speech and language therapy in close conjunction with families and other professionals working with the same client group and contribute to MDT support for clients with a range of social communication difficulties.
- Independently assess, manage and differentially diagnose a caseload of clients with social communication needs and develop evidence based treatment and management programmes to be implemented within the multi-disciplinary teams and the clients family. This includes clients without an Educational Health Care Plan.
- Devise and deliver appropriate specialist intervention/care plans/enhanced models of SLT for clients with complex communication needs and provide suitable and timely support.
- Provide feedback, advice and training to parents/family members, carers and members of the multidisciplinary team regarding communication needs and strategies to facilitate development.
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent,
- HCPC Licence to Practice,
- Show active interest in CPD in line with RCSLT guidelines,
- experience in NHS within children neurodevelopment service,
- knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders,
- experience in delivering pre and post diagnostic support to cares of children with ASD,
- Child development and its application to speech and language therapy,
