Summary
Working under the direction of the manager to ensure that the learners are supported in a person centred approach. To maintain confidentiality and ensure that safeguarding learners is paramount and promote a positive safeguarding culture at all times.
Key Responsibilities/Duties: Working under the direction of the manager to ensure that the learners are supported in a person centred approach To maintain confidentiality and ensure that safeguarding learners is paramount and promote a positive safeguarding culture at all times To act as a positive role model for the learners and be ambitious for them To promote a positive atmosphere to enhance the learners’ experiences and life To communicate with the learners in their preferred method of communication an adult to adult approach To assist the learners with their personal intimate care including the changing of incontinence aids, washing and dressing To support the learners with their physical, emotional and health needs To teach and encourage learners to be as independent as possible in all areas of their life. To support learners to keep in contact with their friends and family To support the learners in social activities and encourage and share new and activities and hobbies To work shift patterns and “sleep in” at the end of an evening shift To support the learners on their annual holidays To carry out any other duties compatible with the post
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills: Working with people with profound and multiple learningdifficulties Provision of personal intimate care An understanding of the importance of safeguarding Makaton Trained to administer Medication First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one A strong commitment to the needs of the people we support Flexible and adaptable Physically fit
