Physiotherapist position available at [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk], with negotiable salary. The role involves assessing and treating adults with disabilities, working in various settings, and participating in training and professional development.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- To work under the supervision of the Senior Physiotherapist, assessing and treating adults with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties. This includes working with people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), in individual and group settings.
- To assess and treat clients in hydrotherapy settings and rebound therapy.
- To work across a variety of locations to include college, Day Opportunities (day services) and residential settings.
- To supervise a physiotherapy assistant, in the absence of the Senior Physiotherapist.
- To work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own caseload of clients and maintaining professional documentation.
- To take an active part in the training programme run by the Senior Physiotherapist, including giving presentations.
- To liaise with other professionals, carers and clients' families as needed.
- To deputise in the absence of the Senior Physiotherapist
- To work jointly with other Therapy Services as appropriate
- To support self and service development through active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and by participating in any audit or research being undertaken by the service.
- To work in line with the Manual Handling Regulations and the necessity for and value of risk assessments, both to the support worker and the client.
- To provide reports and attend learners reviews
- To attend staff meetings
- To participate in support and supervision sessions
- To participate in training
- To complete timely and accurate notes
- To assess learners physio needs and design exercise programmes
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to apply core physiotherapy skills across a range of clinical conditions with a person centred, goal setting approach
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise and demonstrate clinical reasoning.
- Collaborative working with colleagues and other agencies
- To demonstrate reliability, commitment and consistency in working with adults with disabilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in both verbal and written format incl. report writing skills. Organisational skills
- To engage and work constructively and sensitively with adults with disabilities
- To work on own initiative, be personally and professionally responsible and able to self- motivate
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and reliable. Understand and maintain confidentiality
- To demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of outcome measures and evidence- based practice associated with physiotherapy.
- A working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance e.g. Safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act
