FULL DESCRIPTION
Summary
HGV Class 1 Driver required to transport palletised building materials to customers. Involves route planning, customer interaction, and ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Includes local and longer distance work with some nights away.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Ensuring vehicles are well maintained, mechanically sound and legally roadworthy
- Ensuring that customer orders arrive in good condition
- Representing the company in a positive and professional manner
- Managing your own time to ensure compliance with driver’s hours legislation
- Working with the logistics team to plan routes to allow efficient multi-drop and direct deliveries each day.
- Supervising and assisting with loading and unloading of goods
- Maintaining records including vehicle log books
- Complete dynamic risk assessments as most deliveries are residential
Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
- A clean current Category $C + E$ (Class 1) licence held for at least 1 year
- A minimum 12 months commercial driving experience
- A valid Driver CPC card and digital tachograph card
- At least 1 year of forklift experience is essential
- Previous experience completing multi-drop deliveries
- A flexible approach to do nights out when the job indicates
- A current Moffett Licence (desirable) however, full training will be provided to attain this if you do not have one
