FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

We are looking for a confident and dynamic individual to join Vuba as a Freight Forwarder. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with international shipping companies, negotiating rates, and overseeing end-to-end cargo management. This is a fast-paced and demanding role, requiring someone who is proactive, resilient, and has a strong can-do attitude.

Coordinate and manage the end-to-end logistics of international shipments. Negotiate competitive pricing with shipping carriers and suppliers. Ensure timely and accurate customs clearance for international shipments. Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end logistics of international shipments.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing with shipping carriers and suppliers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate customs clearance for international shipments.
  • Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin.
  • Resolve any issues or delays related to cargo movement and delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping companies, suppliers, and clients.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all regulations and import & export requirements.
  • Optimize shipping routes and methods for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Previous freight forwarding experience, including air and/or ocean with exposure to Bills of Lading and/or Air Waybills.
  • Understanding of export processes and documents.
  • Strong communication skills (written and spoken English) and good telephone manners are crucial.
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft platforms).
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Experience following all tasks through to completion.
  • Demonstrate acute attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of operating successfully in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

As a Freight Forwarder at Vuba, you will:

  • Ensure timely and accurate customs clearance for international shipments.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline logistics processes and improve service delivery.
  • Any other Adhoc duties

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous freight forwarding experience, including air and/or ocean with exposure to Bills of Lading and/or Air Waybills, would be a benefit’? Understanding of export processes and documents. . Strong communication skills (written and spoken English) and good telephone manners are crucial. Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft platforms).
