FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

As a Welfare Policy and Data Analyst, you will join the team delivering and improving our products to drive ever greater value and impact for our users. You’ll be key to projects and data analysis where your role will be to get the most out of the data we use to generate insights and recommendations to policy decision makers.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Ensure our core products, LIFT and the Better Off Calculator, are accurate, easy to use and delivered to schedule
  • Support testing and development of our software and analytics products
  • Present our services to clients, informing them about our work
  • Training new users in our software, both in person and online via webinars
  • Deliver analysis for local authority clients and contribute to research, presentations and publications on policy affecting low-income households
  • Analyse large datasets and convert findings into meaningful policy insights ● Carry out fast and effective research into relevant policy debates and discussions related to social security and other areas of social policy to generate relevant content for blog posts, the website and social media

Core Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:

  • A strong interest in policy and politics affecting low-income households and a passion for solving social issues in the UK.
  • Experience or demonstrable knowledge in welfare rights advice.
  • Organised and professional with demonstrable attention to detail and a problem solving attitude.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs, design impactful analysis plans, and deliver actionable insights within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into meaningful analysis and convey this to a wider audience via blog posts and presentations.
  • Experience working with data and familiar with quantitative methodologies, including statistical analysis in an academic or professional setting.
  • Experience working with large complex datasets, particularly in manipulating and retrieving data using Excel or SQL.
  • Team player who enjoys being part of a collaborative, dynamic company

The ideal candidate

You must be passionate about solving social issues and using data to improve public services, and keen to develop a high level of welfare policy knowledge (existing knowledge is desirable).
