Summary

We are seeking a mid-level infrastructure engineer with practical knowledge and experience in networking, servers, virtualization, security and cloud technologies. This role involves supporting, managing, and optimising our office infrastructure and data centre to ensure seamless operation, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities include: Microsoft 365 Administration, Infrastructure & Network Management, Server Management, Virtualisation, Mobile Device Management (MDM), Cybersecurity, Email Deliverability & Authentication, User Support, Documentation.

Core Skills and Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and networking. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Linux environments. Experience managing enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., SonicWall) and network troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with Hyper-V virtualisation and server deployments. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a mid-level infrastructure engineer with practical knowledge and experience in networking, servers, virtualization, security and cloud technologies. This role involves supporting, managing, and optimising our office infrastructure and data centre to ensure seamless operation, security, and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5years of hands-onexperience in supporting and maintaining physical servers , managing Microsoft environment and troubleshooting networks, including firewalls, switches and load balancers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Microsoft 365 Administration – Manage Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams, including user accounts, permissions, and integrations.
  • Infrastructure & Network Management – Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, VLANs, and IP routing while troubleshooting network issues.
  • Server Management – Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2022, 2019, 2016) and Linux environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server, and Group Policies.
  • Virtualisation – Manage and support MS Hyper-V environments, including P2V and V2P migrations.
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) – Deploy and maintain MDM solutions (e.g., ManageEngine) and enforce security policies.
  • Cybersecurity – Implement security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and apply patches to maintain compliance.
  • Email Deliverability & Authentication – Configure and monitor SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and DNS settings to optimise email performance.
  • User Support– Provide 1st - 3rd line support, troubleshooting issues, maintaining IT assets, and improving IT workflows.
  • Documentation – Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and an up-to-date asset register.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and networking.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
  • Experience managing enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., SonicWall) and network troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Hyper-V virtualisation and server deployments.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or similar) are desirable.

SALARY:

- £35,000 to £39,000Annual Gross based on experience.

CAREER PROGRESSION:

- Infrastructure engineer often move on to Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Operation Manager. Eventually, they may progress to Operation Director.
