Software Developer

Responsible to IT Manager/Lead Developer

Salary - Negotiable depending upon knowledge and experience

The Role

Continued growth of our business provides several career opportunities within the organisation. We are now seeking a highly motivated experienced Software Developer to join our small but dedicated IT Department on a full-time basis at our head office in Middlesbrough. The position available is challenging, rewarding and requires a high level of flexibility and commitment. The Successful candidate will work as part of the IT team writing and maintaining in house software in support of key Company operations. We have used and will use a wide range of software technologies with the focus always on meeting business requirements. Training will be provided in house by existing members of the IT team.

Core Skills/Attributes - Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in the following: Java, Spring, Eclipse, Linux, OSGi, EDI.
  • Deployment to web platforms is minimal, hence dedicated front-end developers need not apply without all of the above experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Must have solid commercial experience in development and software support roles across enterprise systems.
  • Ability to work as a team with a high level of flexibility.
  • Good time management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with and support individuals within the Company
  • Be able to bring your own experience to bear on issue resolution and the engineering of appropriate solutions.

Desirable

Experience in COBOL (Microfocus Visual COBOL)
